You are given a lot of education on the different conservation efforts they are involved in and my plan is to research some of those. The trainers seemed to be very in tune with the animals and when two of them became agitated the trainer did take them away which I believe was because the animal was not happy. The animals we saw all seemed healthy and happy. I will say though that after being there, and seeing the animals and the interactions between them and the staff that I have a hard time believing anything you read about mistreatment of animals there (I did find some after I went of course). It would be very easy to just show off the good things and hide the others. I still have some hesitancy about animal cruelty and things like that and seeing those things would have made me much more comfortable with it. I do wish that we would have been able to see the facility as a whole as well as the habitats/enclosures that the animals were in. I do not want to go into details because I don't want to ruin the magic of experiencing it for anyone but one of my lifelong dreams was definitely was reached and then some. The experience was the most unbelievable thing I have ever experienced. We were given two snacks and were fed lunch and the food was good. The facility was absolutely spotless both inside and outside. All of the staff members were amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. The check in process was a bit strange but they did give you very specific and detailed instructions on the process. I was still hesitant but decided to go ahead and do it. I did some research and only found charges of illegal wildlife trafficking and money laundering against the owner, Doc Antle and nothing relating to animal cruelty. You can not take a camera and/or your cell phone in so it is well worth getting the photo package.I had a lifelong dream of holding a chimpanzee so when I found this I was thrilled!!! I did a little bit of research and was very hesitant because there is a potential connection to the Tiger King series. We also got to feed the tigers through a thick glass with a specially designed hole during the evening safari along with feeding the elephant on both safaris. They also provide snacks, lunch and drinks for the day safari and drinks, snacks and smores for the evening safari. The staff was excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. Every thing was fantastic! I found that although I took my visor and sunglasses I didn't really need them as most of the time we were in the shade. We did the day and evening safaris as well as the private photo shoot feeding the baby tiger a bottle. Expensive, but way cheaper than going to Africa! Once in a lifetime experience for us! Definitely worth the cost and the heat of mid August! If you go in summer dress cool. Every time I think about meeting the baby tigers, wolf's, chimps, lemur, gibbons, owl, elephant and more I get so giddy that I had this opportunity! One thousand times better than a zoo. Being able to see and touch (almost) all the animals was such an amazing, awesome experience! I understand why it would have been to dangerous to get to close to the full grown tigers and the liger, but it was awesome being able to see them so close through the glass! Was worth the wait, as I had bought our tickets in 20, but then COVID-19 happened and we had to postpone till 2021.
